Want to get in shape but need some extra motivation to keep you going? Group Exercise is for you! Laurier offers hours of aerobic programming a week, aimed towards toning your body and keeping you in shape! The Group Exercise pass includes a variety of classes and is subject to change each semester. 

The Group Exercise Pass is available for the early bird price of $82 + HST until September 15, the price will then increase to $92 +HST for the fall semester.

Drop In Fee: Are you not planning on attending Group Exercise classes on a regular basis? Did you miss free week and want to try out a class before purchasing a pass? Does your friend have a pass and wants you to come to her favourite class with her? If so, than take advantage of our Drop-In Fee! Try any Group Exercise class for $7.00 per class. If you decide to try a class using the Drop in Fee, be aware that if the class is full of participants who have paid for the Wellness pass you will have to use your Drop in Pass for another class.

Aquafit 45 min

This class will not be like your grandparent’s aqua fit class! It is a high cardio, high resistance class that will be sure to get your heart rate up. Using equipment with the added resistance of the water, it will give you that full body workout you’ve been craving.

If you’ve always wanted to get in the swimming pool at Laurier, here is an excellent opportunity to sign up for Group Ex and give it a try! Because of the buoyancy of the water, this class is especially good for athletes who have sustained any injuries and cannot do weight bearing exercises.

Stress Buster 45 min Relaxing the mind and body by focusing on stretching, core work, balance and coordination. Low Participants looking for a way to let go of stress and tension while strengthening their core and improving flexibility.

Cycle Fit

45-55

High intensity cardio training on a stationary bike. This is a cardio and anaerobic workout that uses a variety of drills to simulate the challenges of outdoor cycling.

Participants looking for a cardio workout, great for weight loss and cardio endurance.  Come prepared to sweat!

Yoga

40-60 min

Relaxation, gentle stretches and meditation as well as strengthening postural and stability muscles.

Low

Participants looking to de-stress and unwind in a calmer setting. For those looking to improve strength and flexibility with less intensity.

Bootylicious

45 min

Lower body focused muscle toning with a cardio kick, to your favourite radio jams.

Moderate

Participants looking for a workout that targets their core, legs and booty!

Bootcamp

45 min

High intensity circuit training, largely body weight based with a military style twist.

Moderate-High

Participants looking to improve all aspects of physical fitness from endurance to strength training.

HIIT

30 min

High intensity interval training designed to get your heart pumping and sweat pouring!

Participants who are looking to push their limits by blasting through this express workout that challenges muscular strength, endurance and cardio fitness!

Muscle Pump

Full body workout using a variety of fitness equipment to increase muscular strength and endurance for an active lifestyle.

Participants looking to tone up and strengthen full body as well as learn proper form and use of fitness equipment.

Flirty Fitness

Full body muscle toning exercises interspersed with easy, sassy, Beyonce inspired dance moves to popular music.

Participants looking to spice up their workout with some confidence boosting, but simple choreography...oh, and don’t forget the squats!

Dance Mixx 45 min Zumba-inspired choreography that will get you dancing to top 40 songs. No dance experience necessary! Moderate Participants looking to mix things up and take part in a fun, cardio dance workout.
Pilates 40 min A full body workout with a focus on increasing muscular strength and flexibility.  This class takes place on a yoga mat and shoes are optional. Moderate Participants looking for a full body workout to increase their muscular strength through bodyweight exercises, and increase their flexibility through dynamic and static stretches.

Gun Show (GS)

Upper body focused muscle toning and strength training using a variety of equipment.

Participants looking for an upper body burn to tone and strengthen the muscles in their back, arms and shoulders.

Rock Bottom (RB)

20 min

Lower body focused muscle toning and strength training using a variety of equipment.

Participants looking for a lower body burn. Great for toning and strengthening the quads, hamstrings and glutes.

Hard Core (HC)

20 min

Core workout targeting the abdominals, obliques and lower back.

Moderate

Participants who are tired of doing crunches and want some exercises to sculpt and tone their entire core.

Cardio Kickboxing

45 min

Kickboxing and combat inspired cardio training.

High

Participants looking for a tough full body blast that will have them punching and kicking to empowerment.

Power Step

(currently not offered in Fall 2019 program.)

Fun cardio combinations with the added challenge of the step to get your lower body burning.

Moderate-High

Participants looking for a choreographed cardio workout that will help tone the muscles of their legs.

Plyometrics 30 min Plyometrics or “jump training” includes movements that exert maximum force to improve explosiveness and power. This short yet high intensity workout will leave you feeling stronger than ever  High

Participants looking to push their limits and introduce new explosive movements that will maximize their cardio fitness and overall power. 

Soul Body Barre 60 min

A program combining ballet, pilates and yoga to create a mindfully-intense, athletic workout that develops strength, stamina and physical grace. 

Medium

Great for participants looking to strengthen the core, improve balance, coordination and flexibility.
